New Job Buyer (Non Production) - PTR14/359 Industry: Purchasing and Procurement Job Type: Permanent Location: Gloucester, England Salary: £40000 - £45000 per annum Non Production Buyer Gloucester to £45k plus benefits Based in prestigious Gloucester offices and recognised as a global market leader in the Aerospace sector, our client are actively seeking to recruit a dynamic, highly self motivated and experienced Non Production Buyer to complement their established and successful team. Tasked with looking after the UK side of the business with a €100m spend, the successful candidate will report directly to the Purchasing Manager and Head of Shared Services and will be responsible for ensuring extensive savings are achieved for the operating business. With comprehensive experience of procurement within the Aerospace, Engineering and/or Manufacturing sectors, you will demonstrate previous stakeholder management experience as well as the ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships. Allied to the procurement of indirect commodities, you will develop requests for quotations, analyse supplier responses, negotiate and implement supplier business awards for UK national commodities as well as both implementing and assisting in the definition of indirect corporate global contracts, guidelines and policies in the United Kingdom area, and will demonstrate extensive indirect procurement experience as well as comprehensive skills and analytical abilities in ensuring effective contract terms and conditions. You will analyse global spend and identify cost reduction opportunities at corporate level and target the best market options against consolidated needs in accordance with commodity strategies management and delivering savings per the budget and forecast plan. Additionally you will monitor supplier performance and contract execution on an ongoing basis. Other responsibilities will include developing market intelligence and validating commodity strategies and defining procedures, practices, processes and contract models to best market standards for each commodity group, and will propose improvements of tools & processes and develop purchasing maturity within the Group to align purchasing with the overall business strategy. To be considered for this varied and challenging opportunity within a genuine market leader, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be *ideally qualified to degree level with either a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply *will demonstrate at least five or more years of related experience allied to the procurement and supply chain industry gained within a manufacturing environment *able to demonstrate the proven ability to break down and analyse information and provide sound judgment and recommendations *proficient in the use of the MS suite with knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP *Knowledge of French language is a plus as will be technical knowledge gained within an engineering background *previous experience gained within a multi-entity business proving distinctly advantageous.
