New Job Commercial Manager - 52832 Industry: FMCG Job Type: Permanent Location: Gloucestershire, England Salary: £40000 - £50000 per annum A great opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager to join a FMCG Food and Drinks company in Gloucestershire. The successful applicant will be responsible for increasing the revenue and profitability of the division through optimising new and existing relationships with customers and suppliers, and developing the companys brand portfolio. Responsibilities:- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage the most complex or strategically important supplier and vendor relationships Develop and grow existing brands and, where appropriate, agree and document joint business plans to include promotional plans, target turnover and supplier income Identify, recommend and implement improvements to the companys brand strategy, portfolio, positioning and pricing to create a strong, competitive core range of products Identify, cultivate and on-board new brand partners in keeping with client base, industry profile and business strategy Develop the business profile by enhancing, informing and changing the customer perspective of the companys product offering Using detailed analysis and market research, work closely with clients to meet their needs, develop new opportunities and increase turnover Identify and secure new customers and business opportunities, both directly and via other company divisions, providing diversification and brand distribution Deliver and report on performance against agreed targets/KPIs/budgets including annual sales, profit and supplier income for assigned categories Liaise closely with the Marketing Manager to secure maximum marketing support from brand partners, develop joint promotional activity and optimise event opportunities Collaborate with the Buyer/Category Manager to ensure they have sufficient information and adequate notice to support in sourcing and providing competitive cost prices for new and/or substitute products, and ensure fulfilment of orders Keep abreast of industry news and developments and identify both challenges and opportunities that may play a role in the future of the business Manage the Commercial Department team to achieve their full potential through effective performance management, coaching and direction Essential Skills/Requirements:- Proven commercial management experience within the FMCG sector, including contract negotiations and third party relationship management An excellent level of product knowledge and industry understanding, with established contacts Outstanding communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to engage, develop and manage all aspects of a customer or supplier relationship to enhance business performance Proven ability to lead, coach and motivate high achieving teams Educated to a high standard with strong numeracy and literacy ability (minimum GCSE Level C in Maths and English) ICT literate, with intermediate Excel skills as a minimum Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen Good administrative skills and attention to detail Comfortable working under pressure in a competitive market place to gain market advantage Entrepreneurial flair Inquisitive and tenacious Resilient, independent, and self-motivated Influential and persuasive Socially confident, outgoing, and a strong networker Results-orientated, strategic, and competitive Ability to stay calm under pressure Desirable Skills/Requirements:- Experience of operating within Quality Management Systems and utilising EPOS/WMS Committed to continuing professional development, and maintaining/enhancing industry knowledge
