New Job Credentialing Specialist - BBBH112272 Industry: Health and Safety Job Type: Permanent Location: Weston, Florida The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for completing and processing a providers credential file and reports to the Director, Credentialing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties will include one or more of the following: Process applications to obtain licenses and hospital privileges on behalf of new and existing providers as needed Generate and send verification letters needed for licensure Complete all necessary and appropriate forms for PSV and file in preparation of Credentialing Committee review Prepare check requests for required verification fees Maintain and update database with status and necessary data elements. Document all tasks, phone calls, emails and other forms of communication during the credentialing and recredentialing process in the database Conduct written and oral follow up to determine application status Escalate all issues to the appropriate members of the management staff, region, and/or co-workers as necessary Respond promptly to all questions, received via phone or email, regarding any license and/or privilege Communicate with all necessary internal departments as needed Scan and index completed applications Develop and maintain relationships with staff at the individual boards and hospitals Participate in the delegated credentialing audit process as needed Complete other tasks or projects as assigned REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university a plus. Relevant experience in Lieu of degree will be considered Knowledge of CAQH, NCQA and/or Joint Commission a plus. Excellent computer skills: Excel, Word, ability to function in multiple data bases efficiently. Two years related credentialing experience in healthcare industry. Must be organized and able to multi task high volume of files in various stages at the same time. Demonstrated self-starter, team player, detail-oriented and function with a sense of urgency at all times. CPCS certification is a plus.
