New Job Debt Adviser - BBBH4001 Industry: Not for Profit and Charities Job Type: Contract Location: Birmingham, England Salary: £20000.00 - £21000.00 per annum + pension, generous holidays + more My client is a marking-leading housing and homelessness charity. The organisation is looking for a specialist Debt & Housing Adviser to join their team in Birmingham city centre on a fixed-term contract to start as soon as possible. The successful candidate will join a team of face-to-face advisers working for my client in partnership with a leading energy provider. The Role: To provide a specialist debt advice service that tackles fuel poverty amongst the most vulnerable. To engage with local agencies to raise the profile of fuel poverty across the charitable sector. To help people experiencing debt at any level, particularly where this affects their housing status and/or they are suffering from fuel poverty. To work with with clients to ensure that they remain debt free and are able to pay for their ongoing energy consumption in the future. To provide service users with interventions including debt resolution plans, budgeting, energy efficiency advice and grant applications. The Successful Candidate: Demonstrable experience of specialist debt and housing advice of at least 1 year within the last 3 years. Experience of working with vulnerable people and/or people with multiple or complex needs - within a housing/debt based service. Excellent communication skills both face-to-face and telephone-based. Experience of preparing, planning and delivering briefings / group sessions. Strong knowledge of IT tools including Microsoft Office applications, internet/email.
