New Job Group Accountant - BBBH3866 Industry: Accountancy Job Type: Permanent Location: Sheffield, England Salary: £40000 - £45000 per annum + plus benefits My client is a leading international professional services firm who are going from strength to strength. An enviable opportunity exists for an experienced individual looking for an opportunity to join an exceptional firm with good career progression prospects. The role works within a small Group accounts team of 3 and initially requires you to work closely with the Group Accounts Controller to adopt the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for the group and its subsidiaries accounts. Longer term the role will support the team and drive through improvements to Group reporting. Key responsibilities include: Preparation of Group and various subsidiaries financial statements on an IFRS basis Re-designing the Firms consolidation packages to comply with IFRS and capture relevant information for disclosure purposes Updating the Groups accounting policies and consolidation pack instructions Assisting in the preparation of Group Accounts consolidation and consolidation packs, including the preparation of exchange, reserves and variance analysis Reconciling management accounts to Group accounts Evaluating the impact of the move to IFRS on the firms distributable profit calculation Training other members of the Finance team to increase their understanding of relevant IFRS Preparation of month end consolidated profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow Deal with ad hoc support and project work This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is CCAB Qualified (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) who has good experience of producing consolidated IFRS accounts either within industry or practice.
