New Job IT Interface Engineer - 1312-IT Interface En Industry: IT Job Type: Permanent Location: Charlotte, North Carolina IT Interface Engineer The IT Interface Engineer will focus on developing and supporting HL7 interfaces between a Laboratory Information System (LIS), billing system, and various client EMR/EHR systems. Interface Support Analysis, development, support, and maintenance of existing or planned HL7 or non HL7 built interfaces. This includes installing and configuring interfaces between Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), billing systems and customer Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems Demonstrate proficiency in the development of interfaces using protocols such as (but not limited to): HL7, TCP/IP, (S)FTP(s), etc. Demonstrate proficiency in extracting data from SQL based systems for the purpose of development, troubleshooting and reporting. Required Qualifications: · Bachelors degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience. · 5+ years Healthcare systems integration experience · Prior experience in the health care field with knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and healthcare billing systems. · Experience with switches, routers and security devices · SQL database experience · Experience supporting a multi-site environment · Experience with Orchard Harvest and Copia laboratory information systems. · Experience with NextGen Practice Management · Understanding of HIPAA security best practices to protect patient data at the application layer, storage layer, device layer and data in transit · MCSE Certification a plus; not required
