New Job Mechanical Engineer - 56/I0785 Industry: Engineering Job Type: Permanent Location: Huddersfield, England Salary: £22000 - £30000 per annum THE CLIENT: As a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth an opportunity has arisen within our clients Company for a Mechanical Engineer to join their busy team on a full time basis permanent basis. THE JOB: You will be working on a project from the initial brief, through the design and development stages. You will be assessing the requirements for the project, problem solving, testing, evaluating, modifying and re-testing products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for: Facilitating product design, development, prototyping and testing as required to support new and existing business. This includes working as an integral member of the customer focused team to assist customers, suppliers and production facility with product issues and continuous improvement initiatives. Following projects through the prototype process to ensure samples meet customer expectations for quality, delivery and product performance. activities of the group within various stages of the overall program. Initiate and manage programs as needed to provide justification, testing and documentation to implement and develop ideas or changes to existing designs and processes. Interpreting customer needs into an appropriate technical solution for their requirements by way of suitable cost effective designs, across the full range in our product portfolio. Serving as engineering liaison between specified customers and our business. Supervising preparation of CAD models drawings as necessary for internal or customer use. Check models and drawings for functional content and accuracy. Develop products through recommended design, materials, vendor processing or tooling selection. Initiating prototype sample parts / projects to satisfy customer orders and internal improvement / development initiatives. Responsibilities for these activities include reviewing of existing tooling and processes and / or design and development of new tooling and processes as required to meet customer and product performance requirement. Independently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria utilising knowledge and judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Conducting development activities on each assignment, coordinates assigned manpower and coordinates . CRITERIA: The successful candidate will be degree qualified in mechanical engineering or a related field and will have gained a number of years experience in a structured, mechanical manufacturing environment. Excellent written and oral communications skills, strong presentation, interpersonal and facilitation skills are a prerequisite.
