New Job Operations Analyst - Windows, Unix, - VR/01939 Industry: IT Job Type: Permanent Location: Coventry, England Salary: £2500 - £34000 per annum + benefits and bonus Operations Analyst - Windows, Unix, A very successful organisation based in the centre of Coventry requires a Technical Operations Analyst to work within a UNIX and Windows environment. Working within the Operations team you will be responsible for the maintenance of the companys core applications on the data centre computer systems according to business requirements. Skills required: * Minimum of 3 years maintaining an automated scheduler * Experience of cross platform scheduling * Management of tape libraries and backup software * Undertaking a second line support function * Experience of NetApp, IBM Netezza or CommVault would be beneficial The primary duties of the role will be to carry out the necessary routine operations on the core systems to ensure they are available as required by both the business and external customers. Although a flexible working approach is required to support the business and the team, the specific duties will be undertaken working to company policies and procedures, service standards and parameters within this highly available environment. Duties will include: * Security backups and restores * Running of overnight batch work * Data centre security and maintenance * Starting and stopping services as required by the business * Efficient and effective implementations of code into production with minimal disruption to internal and external customers * Performing 2nd line support duties on a regular basis * Project involvement Once the successful applicant has gained sufficient skills and experience in the role they will take part in the out of hours on call support rota. Due to this role covering the main site and the Disaster Recovery site you will need a clean driving license and the use of a pool car will be provided.
