New Job Raw Materials Purchasing Manager - 5214SC Industry: Purchasing and Procurement Job Type: Permanent Location: Glossop, England Salary: £35000 per annum Our client require a Raw Materials Purchasing Officer to coordinate the effective and efficient purchasing activities. Key duties include: *Negotiating contracts and managing the procurement of raw materials and metal scrap * Working closely with the planning and operations teams to ensure that material availability is in line with production requirements and to minimize downtime * Ensuring that purchases are managed within the cash flow capability and target of the company * Producing data and reports to manage KPIs including supplier spend, on time delivery and pricing * Reporting inventory levels and delivery arrears on a weekly basis * Maintaining purchasing files for daily/weekly/monthly TOC meetings * Work with suppliers of goods and services to introduce Service Level Agreements and to monitor the performance of all suppliers * Liaising with other business functions to establish an agreed definition of the business needs * Working with the quality department on any raw material NCRs and ensure the Q-Pulse system is updated * Managing the placement of futures contracts on the LME and the reconciliation process * Maintaining and managing hedge effectiveness logs * Maintaining LME broker margin monitoring trackers * Managing relationships with LME brokers * Communicating and advising the sites on material pricing and the impact of external factors influencing pricing which may impact the business * Presenting and agreeing the purchasing strategy with the site Senior Management Team * The provision of market data * Management of the Purchasing Officer on day to day activities * Providing support to the commercial team with customer discussions/presentations/visits * Working to reduce the elemental cost of materials through scraps and use of alternative materials * Circulating and providing overviews of new legislation and requirements e.g. CCL, REACH For this role, we require a CIPS qualified purchasing professional with experience gained within metals or engineering sectors.
