Job Summary: Develops and maintains safety/IH/ergonomics programs. Provides guidance and support to manufacturing on Safety and Health related topics. Develops tools and training to prevent or minimize work-related injuries, and to maintain a safe work environment at Nissan. Uses ergonomic guidelines to address current manufacturing injury concerns and future model planning. Provides Industrial Hygiene activities such as air and noise sampling, and monitors results to ensure a healthful working environment. Job Function: Investigate industrial accidents, injuries (including cumulative trauma), and occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures. Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes. Review current safety programs to determine their adequacy and update program to fit Nissan manufacturing environment Review plans and specifications for construction of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met. Prepare and calibrate equipment used to collect and analyze samples and collect samples of dust, gases, vapors, and other potentially toxic materials for analysis Perform ergonomics assessment and address concerns by working with the stakeholders. Qualifications: -Extensive knowledge of State and Federal safety standards. -Working knowledge of ergonomic standards and evaluation tools; working knowledge of the company manufacturing processes. -Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing safety/IH/ergonomic programs -Demonstrated experience in leading/working with cross-functional teams on successfully implementing safety programs and processes. -Minimum of 3 years of related experience at a professional level required. -B.S. Degree in Engineering or Safety or Ergonomics or related field with a minimum of 3 plus years of experience in ergonomics/safety. -M.S. Degree in the above discipline is preferred but not required. -Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Certification in CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) is preferred . -Position will require the flexibility to work night shift if needed -Occasional travel, domestic and international Think youve got the internal drive to make great vehicles and join a winning team?
