New Job Senior Hardware Engineer - 18316 Industry: IT Job Type: Permanent Location: South East England, England 1. PURPOSE OF JOB: To support the development of products for the fire detection and security industries primarily in the design and development of hardware including schematic designs, PCB layouts and EMC requirements, following company and ISO9001 quality procedures. The successful candidate will be joining a business that designs products for home and international markets to tightly specified local legislative and commercial requirements. The successful candidate will provide support and mentorship to other members of the R&D department, report directly to the R&D director, and promote open communication and engineering support to other departments within the business. 2. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Good knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design for embedded systems. Experience in designing for compliance with EMC and electrical safety legislation. Skills in providing accurate and detailed reports of any research, faults, decision analysis of new or existing products. Good knowledge of CAD circuit design and layout. Good knowledge of software design needs. 3. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE OF BENEFIT: Experience and knowledge of RF circuit design. Experience with designing products to meet the R&TTE directive. Experience designing battery powered products with low power requirements. Experience in fire and security standards with the understanding of requirements relating to the design, development and features of any fire system products. Experience using Mentor PADS PCB design software. 4. OTHER SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide hardware supporting software in compliance with processes and procedures of the companies ISO9001 quality standards. To provide reasonable timescales for project plans and tasks. Ensuring that targets and timescales are met. Promoting good team work with colleagues and professionalism within other departments. Aiding and motivating of other team members. Ability to mentor and guide junior team members and technicians. Good knowledge of latest development tools and equipment and current best practices.
