Design / manufacturing key feature definitions (eg shaft OD = turning and grinding) Opportunities to improve process capability with known technologies Potential manufacturing process development roadmap to support future products and process yield goals Works with technologists on design rules and tolerancing models, ensuring they are working with current and proposed capabilities. works with external bodies conducting research into metal cutting (AMRC, MRC, universities and machine tool supplier development teams responsible for developing future machining capabilities in support of technology development. To further strengthen the Advanced Manufacturing Technology team at the Global Technical Centre that supports, NPI activity, fundamental mechanism development and the processes already deployed into its regional manufacturing locations, The company is looking for Two Senior Manufacturing Engineers to be subject matter experts (SMEs) in the field of CNC machining, to focus on technologys required for Aluminium and Cast Iron based pumps. These SMEs will work with technical and operational teams across the globe enhancing and standardising metal cutting technologys, also developing and defining our future manufacturing technology needs in line with our product development road maps, or via the identification and justification of the adoption of new technologies to bring about significant changes to products quality/cost. To be considered for these demanding, exciting and challenging roles you will have a strong back ground in CNC programming and process development and have retained the ability to be hands on. Experience in the automotive and/or aerospace sectors is likely to equip you with the level of experience and rigours we are looking for, however we will consider any sector experience but you are also likely to possess some of the following skills:- ->10 year experience of CNC programing - Ideally Fanuc - Ideally Mori Seiki, Makino, Studer, Matsuura, DMG, Stama etc. - Familiar with 3D CAD/CAM and verification tools for prismatic and or multi axis machining - Ideally Catia, Vericut, Esprit, Autodesk - Ability to Prove out a CNC process - Definition and design of fixtures and tooling - Conversant with CP CPK calculations process capability studies - 6 sigma - DFM / PFMEA - Experience of CMM measurement - Ideally Zeiss based - Feature based design and manufacturing definitions - Ability to document and communicate complex process definitions. - Thrives on Data, facts and experimentation - In-depth process development in either Iron/Steel or Aluminium - Minimum of HNC, but ideally a degree in a relevant engineering discipline
