New Job Site General Manager - South Yorkshire - MDW10413 Industry: Manufacturing and Production Job Type: Permanent Location: South Yorkshire, England Salary: £80000 - £100000 per annum + plus benefits Having just spent the day meeting the team and walking around this impressive heavily Capex invested Site, this is truly the right and exciting time to join this branded food manufacturing business as Site General Manager. This is a critical position, reporting into the Operations Director, and will play a pivotal role in the strategic growth of this business. The span of control covers Health and Safety, Quality, People Engagement, Manufacturing Strategy and Operational Performance. The successful candidate will come with manufacturing best practice knowledge and have the experience and track record to deliver the Site Strategy across the following areas: Health & Safety - develop and promote an H&S culture with behaviours that develop best practice standards. Quality - promote behaviours to deliver consistent quality of products and ensure the site is always audit ready. New Production Line Delivery - monitor, control and improve the delivery of the new line and look for opportunity for new automated packaging kit. Review and develop a plan to look at the packing area to save further costs and improve efficiencies. Cost Reduction - through the development of FLM skill base and driving a CI culture with the deployment of lean tools be able to take cost of the site including the managing of a waste reduction project. The people piece is a strong agenda point... the ideal candidate will be able to engage with the workforce and bring them along with them. They must be highly self-aware understanding their strengths and development needs and recognising the impact they have on others. The individual will manage a wide range of relationships. We need to find a strong leader who will manage upwards, with peers and with his/her direct reports. They must have the ability to manage relationships across a matrix business structure engaging positively with the Commercial and Development Teams.
