New Position: Product Manager: Zenon Industry: Engineering Department: Sales GAP Staffing Solutions – Gauteng, Gauteng This exiting challenging position requires a professional and mature individual to join its sales department in the role of Product Manager for the product range ZENON. A candidate with a number of years working experience in a similar field and or industry and knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, Software; who can promote and sell by demonstrating to a broad level audience. REMUNERATION: - Shall be based on the successful candidates qualification and experience. It will include a company car, cellphone allowance, entertainment allowance, medical aid, commission, basic salary, and provident fund. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- The Product Manager would manage, promote and sell existing products and services / licenses, as well as create and integrate new products and product changes. In this role, the PM has a monthly / annual sales target and conducts margin analysis, industry / market / application research determines product demand, positioning, viability and profitability; The PM shall pre-empt potential problems and provide effective solutions and is expected to work target orientated, managing an existing client base as well as being responsible for expanding and growing the product knowledge [internally and externally], increasing the market awareness and growing a loyal and satisfied client base generating revenues. The PM manages products not people… He / She is responsible to maintain and manage technical partnerships, conduct requirement analysis’s, evaluate and negotiate terms with clients to generate sales. The Product Manager wears multiple hats, performing roles of sales engineer, relationship manager, visionary strategist, technical expert as well as business development and marketing; Manage product performance: sales margin, conducting extensive numerical analysis using the company’s Business System; Needs to be the expert when it comes to the COPA DATA / Zenon range of products, as well as the competition; Gather market information, direction of the industry and threats / opportunities to the product; Liaise with principles in Europe and conduct quarterly forecasts, set annual performance budgets in terms of purchase volumes, resulting through realistic budgets set for the product development in SA; Identify & present innovative and creative application solutions, possibly in liaison with our European partners; Project management of all product integration / launches / changes throughout implementation, supported by marketing division; Coordinate & build strong working relations with various internal departments including Marketing, Internal sales, Finance, Technical Support & Training; Assist marketing department on product launches and product related activities / events; Work with marketing department to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer; Manage key accounts; Formalize product strategies with clients; Weekly sales reports for the management team; Will be expected to work towards a sales target; Managing the product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities; Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers; Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning; Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute; Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product; Adhere to Corporate Compliance Policy; Meet / Exceed and maintain service levels as assigned by management; Provide support for other departmental projects as needed; CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE Minimum qualification: Grade 12 Minimum Experience: 5 years sales experience IN SIMILAR INDUSTRY REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); Project management skills; Group facilitation skills; Time management skills; Problem solving & Analytical skills; Ability to be pro-active with a sense of urgency; Be a self-starter, a highly motivated person able to work in a fast paced environment that changes continuously; Able to do quarterly product stock planning; Target focused; Goal orientated; Capable with report writing; Able to build relationships on all levels within the organisation; Must have a proven sales track record; Must be able to sell technical solutions; Able to formalize product strategies with the customer; COMPUTER LITERACY • MS Office (Full Package), • Windows, • Design software  Valid driver’s license BENEFICIAL ATTRIBUTES Diploma in marketing/sales would be advantageous Technical Qualification would be advantageous Experience in product development, strategic planning, and implementation preferred; Industrial IT Background would be advantageous
