New Principal for Crossroads Elementary Dear Crossroads - TopicsExpress

New Principal for Crossroads Elementary Dear Crossroads Community, It with great pleasure that we announce the selection by the CES site-based council of Mrs. Julie Skeens as the new principal of Crossroads Elementary School. The Council selected Mrs. Skeens after conducting a thorough selection process. She is entering her 14th year with BCPS. Of those years, she served ten years at Old Mill Elementary School as a special needs teacher, two years as an instructional coach at Pleasant Grove Elementary and a year as instructional coach at Eastside Middle. The council was impressed by her obvious work ethic, passion for children’s success, knowledge of curriculum and instructional practices, ability to use data to improve student learning, and understanding of the importance of school culture and parental involvement. Mrs. Skeen will be communicating with the Crossroads Community in the near future and – during the interview process – she stressed the importance of parental and community involvement in making a successful school. Personally, I’d like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of Crossroads SBDM council members. They performed this most important job with great distinction and it was an absolute pleasure to work with them. They are: Julie Brock, Parent member: Leslie Weihe, Teacher member, Teresa Cox, Teacher member, Brandy Howard, Teacher member and secretary; and Kerry Lamarre, Parent member. Finally, I would like to thank Mr. Rod Firquin for his steady and excellent service as interim principal over the past few weeks. His work will make the transition much easier as Mrs. Skeens takes on her new role. Keith Davis, Superintendent Bullitt County Public Schools
