New Rave Review on Gwins Lodge! -- ...Ive spent a lot more money at other more upscale establishments on the Kenai, but never got as good a value for my dollar as I have gotten at Gwins. The accommodations are clean and some replacements and upgrades have been made to some of the older facilities. The bar and restaurant are both worth a stop after a hard day of fishing on the Russian River or driving down the Sterling Hgwy on the way to Homer. Its truly a throwback to the days of the original roadhouses; everything you need is available at Gwins. Lose that last coho fly on a snag? Restock at Gwins. Mantle for your lantern? Yep, got em. Line? Rod? Advice? Lodging? A cold drink? A hot meal? (Best biscuits and gravy on the peninsula!) One stop shopping in the Heart of the Kenai and its all provided with a smile. They want you to enjoy your stay on the Kenai wherever you might roam and they will work hard to make Gwins Lodge a pleasant memory of your time spent on The Last Frontier. Room Tip: Even if you dont stay at Gwins, stop, have a drink, and eat at Gwins!
