New Research Article Received :- EFFECT OF THE TRIACONTANOL FORMULATIONS “MIRACULAN’ BY FOLIAR APPLICATION ON GROWTH, YIELD AND OIL CONTENT OF SOYBEAN (GLYCINE MAX (L.) MERR. Jayant H Meshram*, P. Y. Sontakey and R.D. Deotale Department of Botany, College of Agriculture, Nagpur, Dr.P.D.K.V. Akola, Maharashtra, India. ABSTRACT A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of triacontanol on the morpho- physiological, biochemical, yield contributing characters of soybean (Glycine max L. Merril) cv. PKV-1 during kharif season at experimental farm, Nagpur, India in randomized block design with three replications. Altogether, 13 treatments were given as foliar spray. Triacontanol foliar application showed stimulatory effect on dry matter accumulation, leaf area, CGR and NAR, leaf chlorophyll, leaf nitrogen, seed protein and seed oil. Maximum increases in all these traits were found at 200 and 225 mg dm-3 treatments. Data on yield and yield contributing characters revealed that the TRIA spraying improved all factors governing yield. Application of 200 and 225 mg dm-3 TRIA were found most effective in comparison to other concentrations. Key words: Soybean, TRIA (triacontanol), foliar spray, Leaf Area, DAS (Days after sowing)
