New Rules Guide Visit, Family Visas Arabtimes The General Immigration Department, according to security sources, has issued a set of new laws to regulate visit and family visas, reports Al -Anba daily. The sources added one of the important new regulations says the wife of the sponsor should be in Kuwait, either on a visit visa or on a family visa, to allow the sponsor to bring his children to Kuwait on visit or family visa. Another regulation says the age of the children in either case should not exceed 21 years. Meanwhile, the Al -Seyassah daily quoting informed sources from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor said Minister Zhikra Al -Rashidi has approved the transfer of 250 commercial visit visas to private sector visas for foreigners of various nationalities. The report said the 250 visas which have been approved through the Minister’s office, are part of the 3,000 applications. The 250 are said to have fulfilled the requirements sparking speculation about the criteria that merits transfer. In other news, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor will soon issue a decision to form a bilateral committee comprising members from the ministries of Social Affairs and Labor and the Ministry of Interior to who will pay visits to companies to check on employers and employees, reports Al -Kuwaitiah daily quoting reliable sources. The daily added teams will be formed to inspect all governorates over a period of six months. The inspection teams are expected to give detailed reports on the conditions of laborers all over Kuwait especially with issues related to their working places, accommodations or professional safety. The sources also affirmed the committee will issue warnings and citations to employers for committing violations against their employees. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has also sought the approval of the Ministry of Interior to the formation of the committee whose prime motive is to fight visa traders.
