New Sky Sports pundit and former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has told his former boss to re-sign midfielder Alex Song, who is currently on loan at West Ham. Song has had a successful loan spell with the Hammers, who recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Hull yesterday. This has attracted Liverpool to the Cameroonian, who retired from international football this month to rule himself out of the African Cup of Nations. But Henry wants his beloved Gunners to beat Brendan Rodgers’ side to his signature and bring Song back to the Emirates. Taken from the Express , Henry said: “Song Would Improve Arsenal. That is the type of player you want in front of your back four. “Song is the captain of the boat. He protects the back four. You need someone to dictate, put players into position, make little fouls by kicking someone - like Claude Makelele used to do.” Arsenal may have kick-started their season yesterday, after a fantastic 2-0 victory at the Etihad over Manchester City - their first away win against a top four side since 2010. Francis Coquelin had one of his best games in an Arsenal shirt, but it is still a priority for the Arsenal boss to bring in a central midfielder. Is Song the man to make the difference in the middle? Gunners fans have your say below.
