New Vacancy Head of Open Access, Oxford University Press Oxford, £50-55k Oxford University Press, the prestigious global publishing arm of Oxford University, is looking to hire a new Head of Open Access to shape and champion OUP’s strategy as an open access publisher and to represent its interests to other publishing organizations, to decision and policy makers in governments, research funders, and other stakeholders. The Head of OA will input into the overall strategy of the Global Academic Business and the publishing strategies for individual subject and geographical verticals. He/she will champion OUP’s open access policies and approach on key external bodies, liaising with key bodies within the University to agree common approaches. He/she will also ensure that the appropriate policies, procedures and infrastructure are in place to support open access publishing and research. You will have proven senior-level experience in a strategic publishing role, with a demonstrable understanding of open access issues, trends and models and a sound knowledge of the scholarly publishing industry in general. You will be an excellent communicator with the confidence and credibility to convey complex issues to peers and senior management concisely and clearly. You will also be a skilled presenter happy to present at events and conferences.
