New Video: Empowered Friends in Christ, What does it mean - TopicsExpress

New Video: Empowered Friends in Christ, What does it mean to be EMPOWERED by the Holy Spirit? Have you ever wondered how that happens? It’s a big concept. But it’s so necessary to continue to grow in faith in Jesus Christ. We are empowered by studying our Bibles-either through our own personal devotional life, or in a group setting. We are empowered through joining in service and common interest groups with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are empowered by just living life together! Journey Groups are an important piece of our 3 E Journey here at Christ’s Greenfield. We want all people to be involved in a Journey Group, so that you can continue to grow in faith and life. What does it look like for you to live out your faith on a daily basis? What struggles have you had? What celebrations need be joyfully proclaimed? Your Journey Group is filled with people who want to celebrate with you, walk the path of pain with you, and lift you up in prayer. We are the family of God here! If there’s anything that I’ve felt since becoming a part of this community, it’s that the love of Christ is given away in droves here, even by random strangers. People are warm and welcoming. They know the love of Christ and they want you to know it too. They truly want to know you and be your friend. It’s that Spirit-filled positive EXPERIENCE that leads us to a deeper commitment of involvement, and that’s where Journey Groups come in. A Journey Group can be any one of these three things: Bible Study, Common Interest or Service. Most likely, you’re already in a Journey Group- and maybe don’t even know it. Are you an usher or a Eucharistic assistant? You’re in a service Journey Group. Are you a golfer who meets with other CGLCS golfers regularly? Then you’re in a common interest Journey Group. Are you in a weekly Bible study or home group? Then you’re in a Bible Study Journey Group. These Journey Groups are a powerful part of how we live life in Christ together. We encourage everyone to Join the Journey and be a part of a Journey Group that fits your family, your needs, your life stage. There are so many and more are starting all the time, so if you’re interested, please don’t hesitate to talk to either Deacon Tom Luley or myself. We want to get you connected to a Journey Group. Above all else, know that the God we serve is a great God, full of joy, grace, mercy and peace. He wants that relationship with you and even died for it. Let’s live life in faith together, to continue to proclaim the name of Jesus and EXPAND the kingdom of God, for His glory!
