New Wigan boss Owen Coyle will try to make Manchester United - TopicsExpress

New Wigan boss Owen Coyle will try to make Manchester United youngster Nick Powell his first signing as he looks to secure a loan deal for the teenage starlet. Coyle tried to recruit the youngster when he was in charge at Bolton, before Powell opted to move to Old Trafford from Crewe last summer in a £6million deal. The 19-year-old midfielder has now recovered from an operation that cut short his debut season and talkSPORT understands new United boss David Moyes will assess Powell during pre-season and then make a decision on his short-term future. Powell made just six appearances for the Reds last season, and scored his only goal for United against Wigan in the Premier League. United pair Tom Cleverly and teenage striker Angelo Henriquez both had spells on loan at the DW with varying degrees of success.
