New Year thoughts. One of my favourite quotes ever came from Kevin - TopicsExpress

New Year thoughts. One of my favourite quotes ever came from Kevin Keegan who once said I dont make predictions and I never will. Still makes me laugh out loud! So here are some predictions for the next 12 months from yours truly Mystic PY. No party will gain overall control after the next election. The British public seem to have finally woken up to the fact that politicians of whatever persuasion are with a few honourable exceptions, an utter waste of space. My view is that Cameron will have to go cap in hand to Farage and form another wishy-washy coalition. If that happens, this country will be more right wing than ever before. Clegg will be virtually wiped out and could possibly be back to the Jo Grimond years in terms of seats. He may even lose his own seat. Ed Miliband may gain from a surge in Ukip support, but not enough to get him into Downing Street. Of course a Labour/Ukip alliance is unthinkable. The most important election for decades is just over 4 months away! There will be a marked reluctance to use public transport this year, if it can possibly be avoided. The lessons learnt from recent Christmas disasters speak for themselves. Those poor, terrified people on the Virgin Atlantic flight and the utter cock-up that was the rail engineering works, leaving thousands stranded. Plus of course the security aspect, which you cant help feeling is nowhere near as vigilant as it should be in these potentially dangerous times. Musically, I think therell be a huge swing towards retro in all genres, as there dont seem to be many fresh ideas. A lot of the current darlings of Pop are retro, retro, retro. Arent they Ed Sheeran and Paloma Faith? On the radio front. The trend to employ people to present programmes who have no aptitude for the job whatsoever will continue unchecked. After all, were only the listeners, what do we know? Have a great year :)
