New Years Day and this week I await the conference call with the film wallahs - the Aussies who hold the rights staying loyal, the Americans who have the money wanting to sack me and hire a top Hollywood screen writer using my treatment as the basis for the script (no comment!) and the Indians and Canadians who are undecided. Talk about swimming with sharks. Probablilty is that i will be sled to write Act i of the screen play, on spec. Outrageous! My agent thinks I should flag it away but the stubborn bit of me doesnt want to be defeated by the chaps with the cash. And its a great story. And everyone likes me treatment…. Watch this space. Meantime What Lies Beneath has almost sold out in the US (not that many copies were sent but only 5 left which is encouraging). Here, if you add in the UK and US numbers, it has sold around 1000 so no complaints on that front. Happy New year to those of you reading this. x
