New Years day is a flurry of minds wanting to redefine who they are. To improve on what they have become. To find meaning and joy and peace in themselves. Personally, I do not think of it as a fresh start...because no ending can erase the past. The reality is that your past, no matter how flawed or fabulous, goes with you into the new beginning of the year. So I always choose to think of New Years Day as a day of motivation in the same way I embrace Mondays every week. (Hence Make it Happen Monday #MIHM) A day to pause and ask- what is my plan? How can I get more, do more, enjoy more out of what I have ahead of me? So New Years Day is the ultimate Monday for me.... and if you are looking for some inspiration today, watch this by Tim Minchin. I recommend watching this every New Years day in fact.
