New Years day was cold and rainy at Muleshoe. Sharon was working hard cleaning stalls and taking care of the needs of the 12 Copiah County horses in quarantine as well as the sanctuary and her personal horses. She is one of the most dedicated volunteers and truly has a love for the horses; we are grateful to have her at Muleshoe! The horses are growing stronger every day. A couple are still on antibiotics for coughs and runny noses. Georgia has an abscess that is being treated and soaked and is getting better. Misty Rose, the paint pony who had gone down a few times from weakness, has greatly improved. She is bright eyed and even showing a little sass with the geldings. Our biggest concern with the herd was their exposure to strangles and other communicable diseases. Keep your fingers crossed but so far so good!
