New Year’s Re-Solution Instead of making a New Year’s - TopicsExpress

New Year’s Re-Solution Instead of making a New Year’s Resolution this year, think of a Re-Solution; solving a long time desire in as fluid a way as possible. Instead of trying to create a new you, respect who you are now and the busy life you lead, and imagine how you could feel with a desired change in your life. Focus on this feeling rather than the behavior you want to change, to help the change stick. For most people, the single thing they could do to make their lives better would be to exercise more. Indeed, this is what most people add to their list on January 1st, but without a plan or solution to achieve this goal. They join a gym, and then go infrequently (which is how gyms make their profit!), or decide on unrealistic goals that don’t fit into their actual lives. Make it fun, make it easy! Remember that spring in your step you had when you were a kid, that loose easy feeling of walking, feeling relaxed and joyful. Exercise makes you feel good, in your heart as well as your body! And any little bit helps! The New York Times blog, The Well, describes new super short workouts, including brief but intense intervals, and even has an app for their 7 Minute Work-out. Running as little as 5 minutes a day helps you live longer. And there’s even a 1 Minute Work-out, which can be reduced to 20 seconds 3 times a day! Snacks of exercise throughout the day can help with brain health, stress and depression, vision loss, aging skin and even improve your creativity. well.blogs.nytimes/2014/12/31/the-super-short-workout-and-other-fitness-trends/?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=second-column-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news well.blogs.nytimes/projects/workouts/?ref=well-ccol
