New Yorks Board of Elections, Campaign Finance Unit, will not - TopicsExpress

New Yorks Board of Elections, Campaign Finance Unit, will not allow me to resign as NYSYD treasurer because of a periodic filing from 2011 that is missing. This filing was part of the personal responsibility of the predecessor of my predecessor. Two treasurers have been permitted to resign through this missing filing, but now that its down to me, suddenly theyre not having none of it, even though the gap predates my own term by more than a year. Because this missing filing includes all the activity around Keep The Change 1, a five-figure fundraiser established during that period by Benjamin Yee, BOEs own computation of our bank balance is negative by thousands of dollars -- another thing they are suddenly not permitting. We have been asked to supply bank records of some kind to attempt to fill this gap, but the retail bank NYSYD used to work with no longer exists as a thing. Right now, the new NYSYD leadership should be getting in contact with BOE and attempting to wrangle what is known as an administrative solution, to this impasse -- which I stress was created by BOEs inability to consistently follow and apply its own campaign finance regulations. Part of the germination of my idea that campaign spending was utterly senseless and deserved the sort of examination we are now doing was sitting in BOEs free Treasurer class, which taught me how loose their grip on this system really is.
