Balletlujah, premiering on CBC in the fall, follows lang throughout the process of creating the ballet of the same name, weaving together candid interviews with the legendary singer with dance performances, both on the stage and in the locations that inspired the songs in the first place — the Prairies, a country bar, a picnic with horses galloping in the distance. It also looks at langs growing relationship with Alberta Ballet artistic director Jean Grand-Maître, who was given the task of interpreting her favourite songs as ballet.
