New episode of Parasites! This begins Part IV, the last part of Parasites. Trauma is not an event. It is a lifetime. One of the things that pisses me off about modern media is how trauma is portrayed. It does not wrap easily up in a half-hour television show, nor is it resolved by catching the bad guy. The effects of a serious trauma last a lifetime, and can be felt long after the event happens. I have tried to illustrate this as best I can through my book. Another aspect to this is that the person who has committed trauma may come to the revelation that his actions were wrong, and that he must atone for them. I believe it is possible to do this. Though we may do atrocious things in our lives, it is always possible to atone for what we have done. The Buddhas had spoke the truth to the redeemed one, and brought about his redemption. This is obviously something that I think is very important. They spoke to him the universal imperative, that we must practice love and compassion in all we do, and what happened was a spiritual awakening. He cognized that violence was wrong, and saw the error in his ways. I wrote this to illustrate that even the worst among us may change once they realize this universal imperative. If the redeemed one can change, anyone can. Even a murderer can be made to love. No one is truly lost.
