New figures show that 460 pensioners in Maidenhead constituency - TopicsExpress

New figures show that 460 pensioners in Maidenhead constituency have been hit by a mere 87p state pension rise. This is despite the government announcing on 4 December 2014 that the state pension would rise by £2.85 a week. Ministers were subsequently forced to admit up to 1.6 million pensioners would see a rise of just 87p in their state pension income. At least 54,540 pensioners are affected across the South East, and 1.6 million pensioners across the UK. David Cameron’s government have not been open and honest with pensioners about the state pension. It’s misleading to announce a £2.85 rise, when the real figure for many pensioners is just £0.87 – it’s time for the government to be upfront and clear about the real amount that pensioners will receive.
