New online at TBHM Library’s Online Projects page: a map of Buffalo churches in 1901, compiled by intern Peter Malia. Scroll down to “Buffalo Churches” here: buffalohistory.org/Learn/Research-Library/Digitized-Materials.aspx Churches are color-coded by denomination. Mouse over a pinpoint to find a link about the church or whether records are known to survive. The map is based on a 1901 map issued by the Charity Organization Society. Our sole copy was marred by crayon marks, so we developed this interactive version instead. It is the most thorough map ever published of churches in Buffalo. Genealogists rely on this map when trying to determine what church an ancestor attended and therefore whether church records (baptisms, marriages, deaths)
