New post from Jared Gumpert at kickitwithkeenan/?p=585 Oncology, Rock On!: Today we go back to oncology for our 2 month check post OP check up. We’re here, but, not quite sure why… Alison says,”because it’s fun!” Reality is, no new is good news, and no change is good too! Chemo side effects by and large are subsiding, and we haven’t seen or felt anything that would indicate the return of cancer- so, as per the norm, we expect the wait to DR time ratio to be nearly 5-1. Next time we might play “hide the doctor tools” or show up late Alison is doing well. The reconstruction process has been delayed by a few weeks as Alison dealt with some incision site issues. After chemo, the body doesn’t always recover as quickly as it did before. While we are 8 weeks out, she is still healing, and restricted from weights and lifting (driving too- ish). I know it seems quite, almost like we have moved on, in reality we have done the opposite. I am back to work full time, and Alison is moving around much more. Alison still is pretty restricted in what she does around the house, so every day is a bit if a dance between dropping kids off, picking them up, getting them to bed, and just getting by. We thank everybody for their continued support, and once again want to call attention to the fundraiser bonfire we are hosting Friday October 3rd at Indian Acres tree farm in NJ.
