New post on Burma Times Authorities Arrested Muslims from inside Masjid in Mandalay by Ibrahim Sah By Ibrahim Dubashi 05 July 2014 Burma Times: Mandalay- Five Muslims—Hafiz Moulvi Noor Din @ Kyaw Min Lwin( Imam of Junn Masjid), Hafiz Moulvi Rahmot Ullah Muazzin of that Masjid ( Announcer of Prayer times in Islam), Zaw Win Htoo( s/o: U Hla Htoo, Maung Chit Oo( s/o: Maulana Nur, the Principal of that Masjid) and Maung Myet Ko— are arrested by three Lieutenants and the chief minister of Mandalay division U Ye Myint from inside Junn Masjid(Muslim worshiping house) under false allegation. Muslims from Mandalay told to Burma Times that “the authorities blindly accused the arrestees that they are trying inside Masjid to trigger some bizarre actions in Mandalay though they are discussing about protection of the Masjid from hands of Buddhist extremists after conclusion of dawn prayer. Until today, there is not a single evidence that Muslims triggered any kind of brutality which eventually led to terrible occurrence. All kinds of bizarre actions are triggered by Buddhists and finally the Muslims become victims as the root cause of violence is to exterminate Muslims from Burma which is backed by predominantly Buddhist regime”. According to final interview with the families of the arrestees by Burma Times, they appeal to Burmese government to set free their guardians both immediately and unconditionally as they are innocent and to bring severe charges against the Buddhist perpetrators who initially instigated the conflict. “It is in fact deplorable that the Muslim victims face double persecution—one kind from thugs and another kind from authority—while the Buddhist perpetrators feel double comfort— one kind by committing crimes and another kind by achieving multiple awards from authority. Which kind of democracy it is in Burma where minorities are in full fear and no life security”, some pious Buddhist dissidents who dislike the ethnocentric Buddhism said to their Muslim friends in Mandalay.
