New program promotes farming families- The Women in Business Development (WIBDI) is set to launch a new program in Samoa that highlights families in the organic farming business. The aim is to support locally grown farm food to reduce the nation’s reliance on imported foods and encourage people to eat locally grown goods, that are typically cheaper and healthier than imports. The year-long programme is to celebrate International Year of Family Farming; a global initiative by the World Rural Forum that’s garnered support from over 360 farming bodies world-wide.
