New release: Responding to organised crime through intervention in recruitment pathways T&I 473 This paper explores how individuals are recruited into organised crime activities. Analysing actual cases, the author flags strategies which would make recruitment less palatable, and less effective for those individuals. For each pathway, the mechanisms used to engage new workers in organised crime are categorised, together with some strategies that would make recruitment and engagement less effective. The paper recommends constructive solutions to intervening in recruitment pathways for organised crime, including corruption and OMCG activities. The report is available on the AIC website aic.gov.au/publications/current%20series/tandi/461-480/tandi473.html
