New research suggests that tall men marry at a younger age than those of an average or below average height, but their relationships are also more likely to end in separation It has long been known that, on average, tall men rise above their shorter colleagues in the workplace. Not only are around 90pc of high-power business CEOs above average height, but studies have also shown that just a couple of extra inches of vertical growth results in a substantial increase in earning power. Thanks to new research by sociologists in New York, we can now add marriage to the fields in which the tall man appears to be in the asendancy. By looking at data from the Panel Study of Income Dynamics, which has been conducting a survey of American families since 1968, the researchers found that tall men tend to get married earlier than shorter men. Statistically, theyre also more likely to marry women who are older and educated to a higher level.
