New shoes... and new polish : David Lynch and Christian Louboutins Rouge Louboutin nail varnish Last February, Lynchland announced that David Lynchs new project was “an experimental film for [shoemaker] Christian Louboutin” but we had no more details to provide since.. That experimental film has just been released. Louboutin was only a footwear designer until recently, famed for the bright red soles on his heels, but he has now decided to begin a new foray into the beauty business with ‘Rouge Louboutin Nail Colour’. Earlier in 2014, Christian Louboutin commissioned David Lynch to direct a short video with a surrealist bent, one that showcases not just Rouge Louboutin, but a computer-generated city the designer has dubbed “Loubiville”, an all-white city that mimics the shapes and angles of the crystal bottle the red lacquer-like nail polish comes in. I hope this new commercial could lead to something more interesting in the future. Indeed, when asked about shooting commercials, film directors often say that they like them because of... the money and because they can try new technologies. Perhaps we could imagine David developing a new project with Computer-generated imagery. Who would like to watch a CGI Ronnie Rocket ?...
