New traffic pattern at the Chicken Road gate begins July 28 FORT BRAGG, N.C. - The new Chicken Road Access Control Point (ACP) will begin 24-hour operations at 5 a.m., July 28. As a result, new traffic patterns at Lamont, Longstreet, Macridge intersections will impact drivers without Department of Defense ID cards. • Eastbound traffic on Chicken and Plank Roads will be processed through the ACP permanently. • The old Chicken Road ACP will be closed. This section of Chicken Road will remain open to Canopy Lane. • Yorktown victor Road from Macridge Road to Yadkin Road will be opened. • The west side of Macridge Road at Longstreet Road will be closed. • A new traffic signal at the intersection of new Macridge and Longstreet Roads will become operational. • Eastbound traffic on Macridge Road will be directed onto the new Macridge Road at Range 37 toward the traffic signal at Longstreet Road. • Manchester and Lamont Roads westbound toward Fort Bragg will be turned left onto eastbound Longstreet Road for processing thru the Longstreet Road ACP. • Traffic traveling westbound toward Chicken andPlank Roads will turn right onto the New Macridge Road. • Range 37 traffic have permanent access off the new Macridge Road into their site. All Department of Defense ID card holders will be required to show their identification to the guard until the Automated Installation Entry System is installed and operational. All non-DoD identification card holders will be required to have an Automated Installation Entry card or 90 day paper pass in order to enter at the Chicken Road ACP. Non-DoD visitors can receive passes at the All American Visitor Center located on the All American Freeway. Commercial vehicle operators will require the AIE 90-day pass or AIE card in order to use the Chicken Road ACP. Commercial vehicle operators can receive their visitor pass at the Truck Plaza visitor center located on Knox Street. Commercial vehicle operators will be required to enter at the far right lanes and proceed to the commercial vehicle search area to present their AIE pass or card. A 100 percent search of their vehicle will be conducted before being allowed access to the installation.
