Newbie question: I havent had sheep in a long time, and never in a cold climate such as Saskatchewan. I recently acquired a suffolk ewe who is due to lamb within the next month. I have her in my barn in a stall with plenty of straw for bedding, hay, salt block, water and she gets grain once a day. Temp is to drop to minus 20-30 degree Celsius in the next little while, the barn offers protection and is shared with 4 ponies, 3 mini donkeys and a steer, but no other source of heat or insulation. What do I need to do to prepare? Heat lamps? Night time checks to see if she has lambed yet? Thanks in advance for the advice!
