Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor will miss Saturdays FA Cup third-round trip to Leicester City as he waits to discover the full extent of his ankle injury. The 28-year-old limped off with a suspected ruptured Achilles tendon during Thursdays 3-3 Premier League draw with Burnley and is likely to miss the remainder of the season if the clubs worst fears are confirmed. Striker Papiss Cisse is suspended and has been released to join up with the Senegal squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, and midfielder Cheick Tiote and Mehdi Abeid are due to follow suit with the Ivory Coast and Algeria respectively. Goalkeepers Tim Krul (ankle) and Rob Elliot (thigh), Siem de Jong (thigh), Rolando Aarons (hamstring), Gabriel Obertan (thigh), Sammy Ameobi and Ryan Taylor (both knee) are all still out. For Leicester, midfielder Danny Drinkwater misses out after injuring a groin in Thursdays 2-2 draw at Liverpool. Defender Paul Konchesky returns from suspension, while midfielders Jeffrey Schlupp and Riyad Mahrez are available for their last match before the Africa Cup of Nations.
