Newly Divorced or Separated People, I have a story to tell. Others can read it too if they want, of course. After you get divorced, separated, etc, you will go through a time period where you blame yourself for the breakup; waking up in the wee hours, etc. and thinking about it. Then all those bad memories you blocked, start seeping through and you blame the OTHER person. You will end up somewhere in the middle, where the reality of the thing actually exists; it took TWO to end that marriage. I saw a photo of a painting by Andrew Wyeth this morning, and it brought back memories of Maine , a place surrounded by the feeling of loss for me. I cant make that statement without telling why, I reckon, so here goes. My husband realized long ago, that his wife felt like a fish out of water in NC, so, being a lover of anything maritime also, he agreed to look at land in Maine, a place that I think of as Paradise, personally. After all, he was from Boston, so Maine is right up there with the New England aura. (There was no way he would have even considered NJ, no way/no how.) Writers! Celtic Arcadian Music! Moose! Rocks! Pine Trees! People with weird accents that never trust outsiders! We found a nice little home in Rockport, right near the water, but he choked and ran from the situation, before we bought it. Looking back, I realize that THAT right there was when I should have left, but hindsight is 20/20 and nothing REALLY good comes with standing by your man if you arent happy too. So, I have come to believe that the FIRST TIME you see that the person is not feeling you, THAT is the time to make your last curtain call, and take your final bow. Because a lady should ALWAYS know when to leave....
