Newly Qualified Social Worker ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT MAKING A POSITIVE AND LASTING DIFFERENCE TO LOOKED AFTER CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE? ARE YOU AN ENTHUSIASTIC SOCIAL WORKER LOOKING FOR A NEW CHALLENGE? Foster Care Associates (part of the Core Assets Group) is looking for a full time Newly Qualified Social Worker to join the team in the Isle of Wight on a permanent basis. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE: Recruitment, assessment, training, support and supervision of foster carers, ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children and young people Supporting foster carers to evidence their competence against the Children’s Workforce Development Council Standards and complete the workbook within specified timescales Work in a team parenting approach to help identify any needs within the foster family e.g. respite, activities, therapy, holidays Undertake Form F assessments and ensure all carers have an accurate and up to date Form F Identify learning and development needs of foster carers and recommend actions to address them Assist in the delivery of core training for Foster Carers and “Skills to Foster” Ensure each child has an accurate and up to date Care Plan/placement agreement on file and that Carers have a copy available for reference Work co-operatively and constructively with Local Authorities to ensure that the child or young person’s needs as identified in the Care Plan are met Ensure Risk Assessments are completed in line with FCA policies and procedures Attend social, leisure and educational activities relating to the support of children, young people and foster carers YOU MUST HAVE: A Social Work qualification Professional registration with the HCPC/equivalent Proven ability to produce a high standard of report writing A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures The willingness and ability to travel extensively (including occasional nights away) Confidence with transporting children and young people in sometimes stressful/difficult situations This position is based on the Isle of Wight and the salary is up to £23k + company car + benefits.
