Newly uncovered documents and videos have revealed that Gruber and others in the Obama administration purposely misled the American people and knew that the controversial law would be incredibly expensive. It has now been revealed that Democrats planned to control the costs of heath care by denying treatment to sick Americans, according to The Daily Caller. “The real substance of cost control is all about a single thing: telling patients they can’t have something they want,” admitted Gruber. “It’s about telling patients, ‘That surgery doesn’t do any good, so if you want it you have to pay the full cost.’” In other words, a group of people would make a determination about whether or not the treatments for an ill person are worth it. It is bureaucrats making health care decisions based largely on costs, and not always what is best for a patient. That is exactly the type of thing that Sarah Palin and other conservatives warned about back in 2008 and 2009 — but they were mocked by liberals and the media. The Obama administration has admitted that denying care is the only way to control costs. What happens when the cost of keeping a person alive is simply too high in the eyes of people like Gruber? It is not a large jump from a group of bureaucrats making decisions about allowable care to the infamous “death panels” that decide how long a sick or elderly person is allowed to live. In fact, it’s no jump at all. Liberals have shown over and over that they are addicted to meddling with people’s lives. Obamacare has given them a way to control and ration the health care choices that Americans make, using costs as an excuse. Controlling when a sick person is no longer eligible for treatment is simply the next frightening step.
