Newport does not smell any better using the peroxide. The stench has only gotten worse. I have an idea that would solve the problem. Perhaps the people who run the NUB would like to live right there at the water treatment plant. No other town I know smells like a sewer. Its hard to attract industry and tourism when the town smells like a backed up sewer. We all understand its a sewage plant, but bigger towns like Knoxville, Nashville, Chattanooga, and Memphis have bigger sewage plants. None of them smells like this. With Carson Newman, Tusculum, ETSU, and UT just a phone call away, Im sure a professor there could tell us exactly what to do to solve the problem. Swallow your pride and ask. Theres no sense in letting the people suffer.
