News (24.04.2014) SRINAGAR: Amidst unprecedented security arrangements, incidents of violent protests occurred at many places in South Kashmir on Thursday were slow polling was going on for the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat. Police resorted to tear smoke shells to disperse the stone pelting youth in Wanpoh in the outskirts of Anantnag town. Heavy stone pelting also occurred in Malak Nag area of the Anantnag town. Protesting youth also pelted stone and raised pro-freedom slogans at Achan in Pulwama district early morning. Stone pelting incidents also took place at Trichal Pulwama. The area is witnessing poll boycott impact. In Murran area of Pulwama, protesters damaged a vehicle resulting in the tension and chaos. Sources said that the vehicle was hired by the Election Commission of India for poll duty. Violent protests are also reported in Koil, Bandzoo and Arihal areas, of Pulwama. Stone pelting incidents also happened in Bugam, area of the Kulgam district. (AGENCIES)
