News: 6-HOUR WORK DAY FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS PROPOSED, 2 hours less compared to the standard work hours daily. House Bill 2684 will thus exempt teachers from compliance with the Civil Service mandated eight-hour workday for government workers. Reducing the number of working hours, according to bill author Rep. Diosdado Macapagal Arroyo, will allow the teachers to rejuvenate, in mind and body, and allot more time for them to innovate and enhance classroom teaching. (PRIB)
