News Feed: Five people, including the driver, sustained mild to serious injuries on Wednesday after a bakkie they were travelling in overturned near Bethanie in the //Karas Region. The accident happened at around 15h30 on road D043. Namibian Police Force (NamPol) public relations officer, Pendukeni Haikali told Nampa on Friday that the driver of a Toyota bakkie was driving from Kosis settlement in the Bethanie area to Farm Snitrivier when he suddenly attempted to avoid a big stone in the road. He allegedly tried to steer the car away from the stone, but then lost control of the vehicle. The car overturned,” Haikali said. The 49-year-old driver of the bakkie escaped from the accident with minor injuries and was arrested by NamPol for reckless and negligent driving. The four seriously injured passengers were taken to the Bethanie State Hospital, and are all reported to be in a stable condition. Source: NAMPA
