#News: Foreign Minister, Dr. Tedros, co-chairs a Forum in Health in Washington Foreign Minister, Dr Tedros Adhanom, told a Forum on Health in Washington that the key to achieving an Aids-free generation in Africa was strong commitment of African leaders to this aim. Dr. Tedros was moderating the Health signature event organized by the US Government during the US-Africa Summit. The theme of the Forum was “Investing in Health in Africas Future.” The high-level discussion Forum, co-chaired by US Secretary of Health and Human Service, Sylvia Burwell, discussed and deliberated on major health issues including how to keep the world safe and secure from infectious diseases and to deal with emerging threats and challenges. It also considered ways to utilize science and research to accelerate positive health effects and on methods to put an end to preventable maternal and child deaths. The Forum was also addressed by President Alpha Conde of Guinea; Dr Deborah Brix US Ambassador at Large and Global AIDS coordinator; Guy Scott, Vice president of Zambia; Dr Rajiv Shah, USAID Administrator; CDC Director Dr Tom Friedman; US NIH Director, Dr Francise Collins; and Senegal’s Health minister, Awa Coll-Seck. mfa.gov.et/news/more.php?newsid=3361
