News Release - For immediate release: July 10, 2013 Independence Police investigating homicide On July 9, 2013, at approximately 6:40 p.m. Independence Police were called to the area of College St. and Crysler Ave. on a shooting, When they arrived they found one subject had been injured and a vehicle had struck a power pole and two houses. The injured subject was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim is unknown at this time. Efforts are being made to establish his identity and notify relatives. Once this is accomplished this information will be released. The investigation is in the early stages and suspect information is being developed. More information will be released through the Public Information Office as it becomes available.
